The island measures 7.315 km in length and is oriented NNW and SSE. 

It is divided into three sections geographically. 

The northern section, known as Narikel Jinjira or Uttarpara, is 2,134m long and 1,402m wide. 

Dakshinpara is the southern part, which is 1,929m long with a narrow tail of 1,890m to the southeast and a maximum width of 975m. 

The two halves are connected by a narrow central belt.

This belt's length and width are approximately 1,524m and 518m respectively, and the narrowest collar is known as Golachipa. 

Chera Dip, Saint Martin 

In addition to the main island, there are a number of small islets ranging in size from 100 to 500 square metres that are known locally as Chheradia or Siradia, which means "separated island." This separated land is actually known as Chera Dip to the tourists. Chera Dip, or Island, is a small island off the coast of St. Martin. 

Sea tides separate the island during certain periods of the year, however travellers can walk or can go by riding bicycle(which is most adventurous & interesting activity you can do visiting Saintmartin island)   to Chera Dip at other times of the year. 

There are local motorboats that can transport tourists to Chera Dip if they don't want to walk or when Tide  hides the walk way under water.

The approximate distance of Chera Dip from Saintmartin island is 3.4 kilometres. 

Chera Dip is surrounded by coral reef, and the only green part of the beach have lots of Keya trees which make many Small bushes.  

Because of no one lives in there, tourists have to arrive early and return late in the afternoon & it’s not a safe place for night stay.

From any destination of Bangladesh(except Cox's Bazar & Chattogram District)to St. Martin's Island, there is no direct link. You can, however, Start your journey from anywhere of the country to Dhaka or Chattogram.

Take a Car from Dhaka or take a bus/train/ air ticket & direct go to Chittagong, then a taxi to Jetty 6, and finally, buy a Luxury Ship M V Bay One ticket and start your journey direct  to St. Martin's Island(Recently added a luxury Cruise Ship M V Bay One voyage towards Saint Martin  island From Chattogram) . Alternatively, you can travel from Dhaka by direct

Buses to Teknaf in roughly takes 9-15 hours(depending on Traffic conditions)

& from  Teknaf  by ships to St. Martin's Island within 2-3 hours voyages though Naf River and crossing the Bay of Bengal.
